MINE GULCH TRAIL CAMP BACKPACK

Easy Backpack/Fishing/Warmup for Summer

Where:  Mine Gulch Trail Camp, San Gabriel Mts.
When:  Saturday and Sunday May 18 and 19
Classification:  Moderate
Distance:  6 miles Round-Trip
Elevation Gain: 1900 ft
Topo:  Crystal Lake, Mt. San Antonio

According to Robinson's Trails of the Angeles (and Dave Aiken), this is a scenic area rich in history and a good place to drop a line in for some productive trout fishing.

Meet at the Vincent Gap parking lot at 9:00 am (time may be revised if participants desire).  Rotten weather cancels.

How to get there:  Vincent Gap is 53 miles from La Canada along the Angeles Crest Highway or 5.5 mile from Big Pines.

I will pre-hike the route April 27 and will have more information on the trip after that.
